Centre for Media Literacy and Community Development (CEMCOD) is founded and incorporated as a nonprofit organization in Uganda in 2013, Centre for Media Literacy and Community development (CEMCOD) encompasses the broad perspectives of using Media and Information Literacy (MIL) to foster active Youth participation, Freedom of expression, the promotion of transparency and accountability at grassroots level and community development in general. Our programs are focused through community engagement meetings, key stakeholder meetings, community media trainings targeting youth and women, live Radio broadcasts & talk shows, and civic strategy sessions with local community experts, opinion leaders and local government officials among others.

Bruce Vitalis Ziraba

Executive Director
Vitalis is a dynamic, enterprising team player with a passion to learn and acquire knowledge. He possesses over 12+ years of experience working in both government and the non-profit sector. As CEMCOD’s Executive Director, Vitalis provides overall management, guidance and supervision to the Secretariat. He has mastered his art as a Community Development specialist and exhudes demonstrated history and skill in leadership and strategic planning.

Program Associate, Finance
Ms. Milly Kaudha is a young and committed finance officer with a keen interest in community transformation and children affairs. Ms Milly has worked at CEMCOD for the last 3 years assisting in managing the organization books of accounts.
Prossy Kawala

Director Media Initiatives
Ms. Prossy Kawala is a Media Literacy Trainer, Mentor and Coach. She has 10+ years’ experience in Broadcast and Media Development, strategic communication for Youth, Women and Disadvantaged communities. Prossy is passionate about promoting media initiatives for community transformation and development and she takes lead in designing, coordination, lobbying and strategic partnerships for CEMCOD’s Media programs. Currently, Prossy also serves in the capacity of Acting Programs Manager

Community Liaisons Volunteer
Daudi Mwanja derives his passion for community development from the numerous challenges he has seen his own community experience and endure. At CEMCOD, Daudi coordinates the different chapters of community reporters across the country, keeping them ignited and ensuring that they share and learn from each other.
Lilian Nabirye

Lilian Nabirye

Finance and Administration Officer
Ms. Nabirye Lillian is a self-driven and seasoned Accountant, Community and Child Development Worker who combines her passion for Community development, Children Welfare together with Accountability, Transparency, and Integrity to produce positive results. For the past 15 years to date, Lillian has worked on various Community and Child development Projects with different Community and Child Development Organizations serving in various positions as Finance and Administration Officer, Accountant, Social Worker, Community Mobilizer-Finance & Sponsor Relations, as well as Program Assistant.
